Human beings were created in God’s image and likeness but sin disfigured this state of perfection. Hence God’s salvation plan is to take us back to the original state. The goal of spiritual maturity is to be Christ-like. Just like Moses told Pharaoh…LET MY PEOPLE GO, let me hasten to say that God is saying to the Church…LET MY PEOPLE GROW. Listed below are basic principles of Spiritual Maturity:
1) Spiritual Maturity is a choice: choose to grow
2) Spiritual Maturity requires effort: press towards the mark
3) Spiritual Maturity depends on feeding: eat right
4) Spiritual Maturity is not instant: take your time to grow
5) Spiritual Maturity requires role models: select/sift your role models
6) Spiritual Maturity requires discipline: train yourself to be godly
7) Spiritual Maturity is determined by self estimation: you amount to something
