FAILURE IS THE ROUTE TO SUCCESS

20 Dec

This message is dedicated to the SAINTS. It is the SAINTS who are likely to be overwhelmed by FAILURE because this word does not exist in their vocabulary. As for SINNERS, they have already walked in the FAILURE ROAD before. If you have never had brutalising failures and set-backs, then you will never fully appreciate success. True success is linked to failure. Every failure is a step on the road to success. The road to success is littered with failures. Show me one success story which never had set-backs then I will propose its inclusion in the Guinness World Records. The English poet Alexander Pope astutely said, “To err is human: to forgive is divine” meaning that mistakes are common and that mercy is a worthy response to human failings. Our God is a God of 2nd, 3rd, 4th & 5th…. chances. Shame on those who focus on the litter of your past failures and fail to celebrate the final outcome of your success story. Shame on those who focus on your wounds rather than the battles you have won. A true failure in life is one who has never tried. One biblical example of dismal failure and personal mess-up is Samson. Because of flirting with Delilah, he lost his anointing, he lost his hair and he lost his eyes. But in his last prayer he pleaded with God for a final showdown against the Philistines. He said, “Strengthen me THIS ONE MORE TIME…..” In Primary School we used to say: IF AT FIRST YOU DON’T SUCCEED, TRY, TRY, TRY AGAIN. In your journey to success you are bound to encounter failures. But in the midst of those set-backs let your prayer be “THIS ONE MORE TIME”. All you need is ONE MORE CHANCE.
