Of late I have been grappling with the idea of ELEVATION as one of God’s promises for his children. Having been in ministry for almost three decades now, I can safely say that I have seen God elevate his people both lay and clergy from nothing to abundance. While I am cognisant of the fact that there is a doctrinal divide over the gospel of abundance, I am of the opinion that God does bless his people for a purpose. The reason for our existence or life purpose is to change the world. Whether we like it or not, those who have been abundantly blessed by God have a higher potential to change the world. You do not need Rocket Science to know the impact of Bill Gates’ charitable activities. Or coming to our own Zimbabwean Christian Community, we can talk of Strive Masiyiwa, Nigel Chanakira, Tawanda Nyambirai and many others. In abundance they are changing the world. Indeed God elevated them to elevate others. While I officially maintain that ELEVATION IS A FAVOUR THING, may I hasten to say that the word of God is full of secrets which can lead us to elevation. May God favour you to discover these secrets I shall be sharing with you in this series.

The first secret to elevation is DESIRE. You have to want to be elevated. Just like a deer in a desert has a craving/thirst for water, similarly you have to aspire to be elevated by God from the level you are in life now to a higher level (Psalm 42:1). One time Jesus asked a lame man at the Pool of Bethesda this rhetorical question, “Do you want to be healed?” (John 5:1-9). Even Jabez prayed his way out of pain because of the drive of desire (1Chron. 4:9-10). May God grant you the desires of your heart. May God also give us journey mercies as we unlock secrets to elevation in the coming days. ELEVATION IS YOUR PORTION.
