# WALK IN HIS WAYS (Deut. 28:9, Psalm 128:1)
The book of Deuteronomy is awash with verses which command us to walk in his ways. These were directives to the Israelite community when they were entering the promised land. The Deuteronomist is not raising possible options from which we can choose but is stipulating commands with a blessing attached. In this particular scripture, he promises that the Lord will ESTABLISH you i.e. ELEVATE you if you walk in his ways. The Psalmist in the same vain says that BLESSED are all who fear the Lord, who walk in his ways. There is a connection or linkage between your walk with Christ and your elevation. It would be foolhardy to walk in your ways and expect supernatural elevation from God. Remember that your ways are not his ways. In Exodus 33:13, Moses makes a request, TEACH ME YOUR WAYS. Similarly the book of Psalms is awash with such a request. For you to know his ways, it follows that you have to be teachable. Take your time to read and meditate on the word of God and from there God will show you his ways for you to walk in them. May God bless those who walk in his ways (Mwari komborerai vanofamba munzira dzenyu…….so goes an old Catholic song). ELEVATION IS YOUR BIRTHRIGHT.
