The second secret to elevation has to do with thinking styles and thinking levels. It is amazing to realise that we are always carrying around one of the greatest tools to elevation which is our minds or our brains. Furthermore the whole purpose of higher education is to teach people how to think. Proverbs 23:7 says that as a man thinketh, so is he. Indeed we are the sum total of our thoughts. Elevation is a by-product of the thoughts we think about ourselves. I would urge you my readers to think better thoughts about yourselves. Some people are so negative about their self-concept to the point that they feel that they do not amount to anything. Yet Jeremiah speaking about the promises of God says, “For I know the thoughts that I have for you, thoughts to bless you and not to harm you, thoughts to give you a hope and a future” (Jer. 29:11). If the Most High God has better thoughts for you, it’s time to align your thoughts with God’s thoughts. Stop thinking TUCK-SHOP and start thinking SUPERMARKET. Stop thinking EARNING MONEY and start thinking MAKING MONEY. Stop thinking EMPLOYMENT and start thinking EMPLOYER. Stop saying I CAN’T and start saying I CAN. Somebody said that if you do not use your software (mind) you will struggle using your hardware (body) for the rest of your life. Similarly if you have no dream, you will spend the rest of your life fulfilling someone’s dream. If you let your brains work for you, you will work smarter and not harder. The Shona people of Zimbabwe say, “Njere shoma dzinopa vatenzi basa”. I rest my case. Be ready for another secret tomorrow.
