Learning to set our priorities right in life is one step towards elevation. The reason why we major on minors and minor on majors boils down to inability to prioritise. Its high time that we major on majors and minor on minors. Its high time we let what matters most, matter most. Its high time we let what is none of our business be none of our business. Its high time we learn to know what is urgent and what is important. Stephen Covey says, “The main thing is to let the main thing be the main thing”. Prioritising is about letting the main thing be the main thing. This is about putting God first in our lives. If God was the main thing in our lives then he would feature highly in our stewardship of our finances and our time. Apparently what features most in our priorities becomes our idol i.e. our god. How many people prioritise the god of technology coming through google, facebook, whatsup, tango, skype, facetime, viber, SMS etc? David in Psalm 27:4 says, “One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to enquire in his Temple”. What is that ONE THING YOU PRIORITISE? The quickest way to discover it is by checking on the time you spend on that thing. For example if you spend more time on Facebook than on your knees, then Facebook is your god. (Ooops, I hope I won’t lose readers). Truth be told, high achievers in life prioritise. See you tomorrow.
