Humility is an act of lowering one self before others or before God. This is about being down to earth. The opposite of humility is pride and the grandfather of pride is Lucifer who wanted to exalt himself to the same level with the Most High God. This is about thinking of yourself more highly than others or more highly than you ought to. The bible says, “Humble yourself before the Lord and he will lift you up” (James 4:10). From another angle it says, “Humble yourselves therefore under God’s mighty hand that he may lift you up in due season” (1 Peter 5:6). Furthermore it says, “For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted” (Luke 14:11). Humility is expressed through submission one to another and submission to those in authority. Paul encourages the spirit of humility among believers when he illustrates the humility of Christ who though he was God, humbled himself to the point of dying on the cross (Phil. 2:5-11). John the Baptist said, “Let him increase and I decrease” (John 3:30). Keep on demonstrating the spirit of Christ. YOU ARE DUE FOR ELEVATION.
