# Mephibosheth of Lo Debar (2Samuel 9:1-8)

Mephibosheth was the son of Jonathan and the grandson of King Saul who had ruled Israel before King David. There was a sudden change of fate for him due to being accidentally dropped by a maid during a flight from a war situation. At that point he was still a baby but the impact of the fall left him crippled for life. Having enjoyed palace privileges for a very short season, he ended up in rock bottom and a destitute in the slam village of Lo Debar. Your destiny may have been derailed by someone you trusted and you found yourself in the place called rock bottom. The good news is that your situation is not permanent. Weeping may endure for a night but joy comes in the morning. God can remember you even when you are in the remotest of places like Lo Debar. From nowhere King David calls people to search for any SURVIVOR from King Saul’s house so that he blesses him for the sake of his friend Jonathan. All of a sudden a destitute from Lo Debar was given back all his grandfather’s estate. To top it all, he was to eat at the King’s high table for the rest of his life. In the modern day of the paparazzi, Mephibosheth could have made BREAKING NEWS. Some of the headline statements could be: A PAUPER BECOMES A PRINCE, A BEGGAR MAKES IT TO THE PALACE, A DESTITUTE IS ELEVATED TO THE HIGH TABLE……..YOU CAN ADD YOUR HEADLINE.
