ONE THOUGHTLESS ACT (Judges 16:1,17,28)

18 Dec

As we come towards the end of the year, with Christmas lingering in the horizon and with many parties lined up, please be advised that ONE THOUGHTLESS ACT can ruin your life. So many well-meaning people live to regret the rest of their lives just because of one thoughtless act. It is usually those who are first-timers who become victims of one thoughtless act. One thoughtless act has led some to carry an unwanted pregnancy. One thoughtless act has led some to be infected with HIV. The list is endless. It only takes one thoughtless act to ruin your future. What would it help you to explain to people on your deathbed, to say that it was only one thoughtless act which led you to that condition? Many young people and even old ones have shuttered their dreams because of one thoughtless act. Remember that your actions do affect other people. Be careful what you do during this Christmas season. Its not always just about you. Think others, think family, think community. There are so many significant others who become casualties of your ONE THOUGHTLESS ACT. The story of Samson serves as a warning to all of us. Samson was a Nazarite, dedicated to God from his mother’s womb. His mission was to deliver the Israelites from the hand of the Philistines. For this reason he had a special anointing upon his life such that he could even kill a thousand Philistines with a jawbone of a donkey. It was due to one thoughtless act of indiscretion which led to his downfall. He chose to go down to Gaza, saw a prostitute and he spend a night with her. It was this one thoughtless act which led him to disclose the secret of his power and anointing. It was this one thoughtless act which led to his arrest. It was this one thoughtless act which costed him his eyes. It was this one thoughtless act which made him become a laughing stock of his enemies. But thanks be to God that it was ONE SHORT PRAYER which made him make a last blow against his enemies the Philistines. This article is my Christmas gift to you. Have a merry Christmas and a marvellous new year. Remember that JESUS IS THE REASON FOR THE SEASON.
