I am amazed with how the Jewish Patriarchs ascribed a name to God whenever he did something great among them hence names like Jehovah Jireh: The Lord who provides, Jehovah Rapha: The Lord our healer, Jehovah Nissi: The Lord our banner, the list is endless. In my Bible readings I came up with another name for God from two great stories of the deliverance of the Israelites from the Egyptians and later from the Genocide plot of Haman in the book of Esther. In both stories we see God showing up as JEHOVAH GARASH: THE GOD OF THE WAY OUT. The word ‘GARASH’ in Hebrew means to drive out, to cast out, to evict, to expel. When the Israelites were at the Red Sea and Pharaoh’s army was coming after them. There seemed to be no way out because of the Red sea. But JEHOVAH GARASH told Moses to assure the people of Israel that the Egyptians they were seeing coming against them, they would see them no more. God made a super highway for the people of Israel but when Pharaoh and his army attempted to follow through the same highway they were all drowned by Jehovah Garash, the God of the way out. That great deliverance of the Israelites is celebrated annually during the Passover Festival. Similarly when Haman plotted to kill the Jews in Persia during the reign of King Ahasuerus, Jehovah Garash thwarted the plot leading to the assassination of Haman and his household. To date the Israelites celebrate the Festival of Purim in remembrance of Jehovah Garash, the God who made a way out where there seemed to be no way. May JEHOVAH GARASH go ahead of you. May he give eviction orders to all demonic forces which are blocking your progress. May he expel all the giants which are standing between you and your grapes. May he drive out all the Amalekites, Canaanites, Jebusites, Meunites, Ammonites, Moabites, Gibeonites and all other ITES who are illegally occupying your territory. May TERRITORIAL ENLARGEMENT be your portion. When Jehovah Garash intervenes in your situation and makes a way out for you, he will also turn your sorrow into joy and your mourning into celebration. Its your turn to outplay Miriam with your tambourine and out-dance David with a new dance style. May JEHOVAH GARASH give you reason to celebrate when he makes a way out for you. JEHOVAH GARASH HAS A WAY OUT PLAN FOR YOU IN JESUS’ NAME.
